In 2016, a scrappage fee on cars was introduced (now it may be from 400 thousand to 6 million tenge), in 2019-2020 a scrappage fee on agricultural machinery (600 thousand – 13.1 million tenge), and in June 2021 – on cable (5% of its value).

Waste tax was introduced to stimulate domestic production, including by limiting imports. What has been achieved as a result of the introduction of the scrappage?
