Protecting a Kazakh company's rights before the EEC
We defended the interests of a Kazakh business at the level of the Eurasian Economic Commission — in a matter beyond a national dispute.
Result: Interests defended at the EEC levelKazakh businesses increasingly operate not only within the country but also within the common EAEU market. This opens up new opportunities, but at the same time creates additional legal and regulatory risks: questions of competition, market access, technical regulation, customs procedures, restrictions and the actions of the member states' government bodies.
In one case, an ARBIS client faced a situation where protecting their interests required going beyond national regulation. The matter was considered before the Eurasian Economic Commission — a body operating within the Eurasian Economic Union. The EAEU brings together Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and its regulation concerns the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor.
The ARBIS team conducted a legal analysis of the situation, prepared a reasoned position and supported the protection of the Kazakh company's rights at the EEC level. In such projects, it is important not only to know Kazakhstan's legislation but also to understand EAEU norms, regulatory practice, the procedures for reviewing applications and the logic of interacting with supranational bodies.
ARBIS protected the Kazakh company's rights before the Eurasian Economic Commission and helped the client defend its interests in a matter that went beyond a standard national dispute.
